European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)

The EFSA is an independent European agency funded by the European Union. It is responsible for both food and feed safety, but is not responsible for EU food legislation. Scientific reports, consultation documents, annual reports and the EFSA Journal (an open-access scientific journal) are available on the EFSA website, together with news items. Policy topics can be browsed via an alphabetical list. The site is available in English, French, German and Italian.

ECHR Blog

The ECHR blog is written by Antoine Buyse who is associate professor and senior researcher at the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM), Utrecht University. As well as posts providing news and updates on the European Convention on Human Rights the blog provides links to human rights journals, research and other human rights blogs.

Privacy International

Privacy International is a London-based NGO dedicated to protecting the right to privacy worldwide. It carries out research, monitors surveillance technologies and raises awareness of threats to privacy. The organisation's website describes its current projects and makes available its research reports, including detailed reports on privacy and surveillance in more than 40 countries. A blog and a Twitter feed are also available.

Asser Institute

The Asser Institut is an interuniversity legal research centre based at the Hague. Its website outlines the aims and activities of the Institute and presents information about its advice and consultancy services, seminars and lectures, research projects and cooperative ventures.

Lois sur la nationalité des pays et territoires européens

Table of links to domestic European legislation on nationality and private international law (in the original language), together with links to relevant case law, bibliographies and to translations of the primary or secondary materials. Many European countries and former Soviet states are included in the table. Also includes information about the nationality laws of Mexico, the Philippines and the Republic of Korea. Last updated in 2019, the page is in French and is maintained by lawyer Andy Grossman as a supplement to his book "Lois sur la Nationalité des Pays et Territoires Européens".

Direct Selling Europe

Direct Selling Europe is a trade association for direct selling companies; it seeks to promote a regulatory environment that aids the development and operations of its members. The website offers definitions direct selling, gives examples of typical companies and products in the industry and provides data on the numbers of people involved in direct selling. The code of ethics is available, as well as advice to the consumer and the direct seller on complaint procedures. The site is available in English, German, French or Spanish.

Common Core of Private European Law

The Common Core of Private European Law is a project based at the University of Trento in Italy, involving academics from Europe and the United States. The aim of the project is to analyse the private law of EU member states in order to establish the common elements. The site explains the background and methodology of the project and includes copies of the survey questionnaires used in its work. Relevant books by members of the project are listed.

Collegium

Academic journal of the College of the Europe, a postgraduate institute of European studies. The journal features articles (some in English, some in French) based on its annual colloquium in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Brussels. The main focus is humanitarian issues such as the laws of war and international human rights law.
