The Southern African Legal Information Institute (SAFLII) is a collaborative project of the Wits Law School in South Africa and the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII) providing free South African legal information.

Centre for Human Rights

Website of the Centre for Human Rights which is based in the Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria. The Centre's activities are detailed on the site and include academic programmes, projects and publications focused on human rights law in Africa. Centre journals include Human Rights Law in Africa and the African Human Rights Law Journal. A comprehensive collection of global human rights documents and African human rights documents are provided along with constitutions and other human rights legislation of individual African countries.

Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa

Official website of the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa. The site gives background and historical information about the court including brief details of judges and a collection of speeches delivered by the Chief Justice. Full text judgements of the Court are available online back to 1999. These can be browsed by date or name. The Court's bulletin gives information on judgements reserved, cases enrolled for hearing and appeals disposed of without written reasons.The Court roll, practice directions and a page of related web links are also provided.

South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law

Website of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL) an organisation established in 1954 to represent patent agents and trade mark practitioners practising in South Africa. The site has information about SAIIPL including a copy of the Institute's Constitution, Code of Ethics and Regulations. Background information, explaining basic intellectual property terms, is given on the site There is also a register of members including contact details.

Advertising Regulatory Board of South Africa

The website of the Advertising Regulatory Board of South Africa (AR) is an online information resource giving information about the ARB's role and practice within South Africa's marketing communications industry. Set up to provide a system of self-regulation, the ARB seeks to uphold its Code of Practice and mediate between the industry and its consumers. The ARB's Code of Advertising Practice is available in full-text on the site. A summary of the Code aimed at the consumer is also provided. There is a section on complaint procedures, as well as recent rulings.

Competition Tribunal South Africa

Website of the South African Competition Tribunal, an independent body that adjudicates on matters such as restrictive practices, abuse of dominance and mergers. The Tribunal also hears appeals against decisions taken by the Competition Commission. The site includes a consolidated version of the South African Competition Act and related legislation, a copy of the Tribunal rules and information about the functions and procedures of the Tribunal. Decisions of the Tribunal and of the Competition Appeal Court are available, along with selected decisions of the High Court.

Competition Commission of South Africa

The Competition Commission is a statutory body of the South African Government whose role is to "investigate, control and evaluate restrictive business practices, abuse of dominant positions and mergers in order to achieve equity and efficiency in the South African economy." The site gives background information to competition policy in South Africa and the work of the Commission. Procedural information is given on the different aspects of the Commission's work including mergers and acquisitions, prohibited practices, exemptions and advisory opinions.

Land Claims Court of South Africa Decisions

A SAFLII database containing selected full-text decisions of the Land Claims Court of South Africa. Decisions are available from 1996 onwards and can be browsed alphabetically or by date. The Southern African Legal Information Institute (SAFLII) is a collaborative project of the Wits Law School in South Africa and the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII) providing free South African legal information. The decisions are also available on the Land Claims Court of South Africa website.

Trade Law Centre for Southern Africa

The Trade Law Centre for Southern Africa (tralac) is an independent non-profit company which was established in 2002 to provide research, advice and training on trade law issues relevant to Southern Africa. Full text books and reports of tralac can be downloaded from the site. These cover topics such as regional trade agreements, trade in particular goods and services, dispute settlement and intellectual property.

Southern African Legal Information Institute

The Southern African Legal Information Institute (SAFLII) has been developed by the Wits Law School in South Africa and is hosted by the Constitutional Court of South Africa. SAFLII provides free access to South African legal materials including judgements of the Constitutional Court of South Africa back to 1995, judgements of the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa and decisions of the Land Claims Court of South Africa from 1996. Full text South African consolidated legislation can also be viewed on the site along with publications of the South African Law Commission.
