England and Wales High Court (Chancery Division) Decisions

A BAILII database containing decisions of the Chancery Division of the High Court of England and Wales. Most of the cases are from the 1990s onwards, but a few earlier cases are available, back to 1595. Cases are listed by party name and year, and there is a search facility. The British and Irish Legal Information Institute (BAILII) provides free access to primary legal materials for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.

A BAILII database containing decisions of the Criminal Division of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. United Kingdom Legislation

Free database of UK statutes (acts of Parliament) from 1215 to the present, provided by the British and Irish Legal Information Institute (BAILII). Most acts are provided in their original form, without amendments, but others include some amendments. There are links to Legislation.gov.uk (formerly known as the Statute Law Database) for up-to-date versions. The contents can be browsed by title or year, and there is a search facility. BAILII is a collaborative service providing free access to primary legal material for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.

Legal IT Insider

Global news site covering legal technology, edited by former British solicitor Caroline Hill. Reports news on all aspects of legal tech, including AI, data analytics, case and matter management, business development, documents and contracts, practice management and IT security. Other features on the site include webinars, profiles of new start-ups, the Orange Rag newsletter and Top 200 lists for the UK and US, showing which law firms are using what technology.

Legal Services Research Centre

Archived website of the Legal Services Research Centre, which carried out research on the subject of legal aid from 1996 to 2013, when it closed. The Centre was the research division of the UK's Legal Services Commission. The website provides information about the Centre's projects concerning administration of justice issues, along with details of the annual conference and useful links.

Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists

Organisation for solicitors, barristers and legal executives specialising in contentious trust and probate work in England and Wales. The site explains the role of the ACTAPS in supporting the work of legal professionals in the field, through education and training, conferences and representation to government and judicial bodies. The site includes the Code of Conduct for ACTAPS members and an ACTAPS Membership list with notes on becoming a member also provided. Parts of the site are available to members only.

McLibel Trial

Website publishing a range of information about the "McLibel Trial", the libel case brought by multinational company McDonalds against two London activists, which became the longest court case in English history. The site has been developed by the London based McLibel Support Campaign, a group formed in 1990 to raise funds for the defendants. The judgement is made freely available on the site in full text or summary form. Other legal materials on the site include the defendents' appeal against the judgement and a copy of the leaflet at the centre of the trial, "What's Wrong with McDonalds".
