War Watch: World Assessment and Tracking of Civilian Harm

Description:
War Watch is an initiative of the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. The project tracks armed conflicts worldwide and analyses compliance with international humanitarian law (IHL). It brings together the RULAC (Rule of Law in Armed Conflicts) database (which has classified armed conflicts since 2007) and the IHL in Focus project (which analyses compliance with IHL in selected conflicts). The website provides background information to international humanitarian law covering the different types of armed conflicts and rules designed to protect civilians and civilian objects during an armed conflict. A newsletter, podcast and glossary are also given.
