The article was published in 2008 (and updated in 2022 by Orquídea Massarongo-Jona and Isaura Ernesto Muhosse) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School at the New York University School of Law. The author gives a country profile and an outline of Mozambique's recent history with links to a selection of recent laws. A description of Mozambique's legal system covers the president, the government, the courts and the Constitutional Council. There is a section dealing with primary legal sources covering official publications, links to sites offering Mozambique legislation and information on customary and case law. The section dealing with secondary sources includes references to books about Mozambique (in English and Portuguese) and journals.
