The Institute of Medicine, Law and Bioethics (IMLAB) is a collaboration between the Universities of Liverpool, Manchester, Keele, Lancaster and Central Lancashire. It aims to establish and promote interdisciplinary research and education to improve healthcare delivery in the UK through the promotion of safe, ethical and cost-effective practice. The Institute is currently carrying out research in the areas of compensation and liability for medical malpractice; feminist perspectives on medical law and ethics; law and biotechnology; mental health law; and global health law (social theory and medical law).
