Freely available English translation of the 2011 Constitution Declaration, provided on Egypt’s Government Services Portal. The constitution came into force following the 2011 revolution, and was approved by a national referendum in March 2011. It is a provisional working constitution, to be used during the current period of transition in Egyptian politics. The 63 articles set out the civil and political structure of the post-revolutionary Egypt, including: procedures for electing public officials; the structure and powers of the executive, legislature, judiciary and military; the rights and obligations of the citizenry.
