This site contains the full-text of the Australian Constitution, which came into effect in 1901, along with background notes and related constitutional documents. The Constitution is made freely available in English by International Constitutional Law (ICL) at the University of Bern in Switzerland. The site also has historical and political information relating to Australia. Other documents provided include the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900, the Statute of Westminster 1931, the Statute of Westminster Adoption Act 1942 and the Australia Act 1985. Links are given to AustLII (Australasian Legal Information Institute) and the Australian parliament.
