The Mental Health Lawyers Association is a professional body for mental health lawyers in England and Wales who represent clients in applications before the Mental Health Review Tribunal. The Court makes decisions in relation to financial, healthcare and welfare issues of adults who lack the mental capacity to make decisions for themselves. The site has Court rules and practice directions, a copy of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (which created the Court) and a Code of Practice providing guidance on how the Act works.
The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) was set up in October 2007 to provide support for the Public Guardian, the Court of Protection and people who lack the capacity to make decisions for themselves.
