Luxembourg Justice Portal

Portal to Luxembourg judicial information provided by the General Prosecutor's Office. There is an outline of the judicial system with information on the judiciary and the various courts. Practical information is given aimed at people coming into contact with the judicial system covering both criminal and civil issues. There is also guidance on employment law. Full text judgements of the Constitutional Court, Court of Cassation and Administrative Courts can be downloaded from the site. The site can be viewed in French only.

Luxembourg Jurisprudence

This section of the Luxembourg Justice Portal provides access to law reports of the Constitutional Court, Court of Cassation and the Administrative Court. The cases are given in full and can be searched by keyword or browsed by date. Case summaries of a selection of Court of Appeal cases are published in a series of bulletins on the site. A selection of cases from the Court of Cassation between 1892 and 1900 are available as digital images. The site can be viewed in French only. 

LERIS

LERIS (Letzeburger Rechts Informations System) is a bibliography of the law of Luxembourg, covering journal articles, book chapters and other legal writing from 1581 to the present day. It can be searched by key word, author, title and/or other criteria. The contents can be sorted and browsed by author, title or date. LERIS is provided free of charge by the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance at the University of Luxembourg. It was developed by André Prum and is managed by Christian Deprez.

The Luxembourg Government

The official website of the Luxembourg government. The website contains information about the political system in Luxembourg as well as government publications, documents and news. It also includes a section listing government ministries, outlining the ‘mission’ of each ministry and providing contact details. The site can be viewed in French, German, English and Luxembourgish.

ELIXIR

A free online directory providing information about the practice of law and work of the legal profession across Europe. The directory describes training requirements and activities for lawyers, bailiffs and notaries in European countries. Click on the country flag to access. Coverage includes: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom.

World Law: Luxembourg

This section of WorldLII's Countries service covers the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The site offers browse and search facilities including links to Government, Legislation, Other Indexes, Parliament and Intellectual Property sites for Luxembourg. A stored search will automatically search for materials relating to Luxembourg on all of the WorldLII catalog or databases. This section of WorldLII was developed from work initiated by Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII).

Service Central de Législation

Website of the Luxembourg official legislation publisher. As well as publishing the Mémorial (official gazette and legislation), the Service has published the Constitution of Luxembourg and the human rights legislation in force in Luxembourg, and both of these are available on this site in PDF, in French. The Service's annual reports (Rapports d'acitivité) are available from 1999 onwards. These include chapters on the legislative process in Luxembourg, statistics on laws passed, and the Service's publications programme for that year.

Conseil d'Etat, Grand-Duché de Luxembourg

The Conseil d'Etat advises the Government of Luxembourg and gives expert opinions on law reforms and questions of higher administration. Its website outlines its history, composition and organisation. The Conseil's opinions are available on the 'Avis' page from 2008 onwards. Relevant laws, regulations and extracts from the Constitution are provided under 'Législation'. The site is available in French only.

Chambre des Députés du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg

The website of the Parliament of Luxembourg offers information on the organisation, membership and activities of the parliament. It includes press releases, access to live web content of the proceeedings, lists of members, committee programmes and fact sheets on parliamentary organisation in Luxembourg. Users should note that most information is currently offered in French only.

Luxembourg Ministère de la Justice

Official website of the Luxembourg Ministry of Justice. The site provides a profile of the Justice Minister and information on the organisation and functions of the Ministry. These include civil law issues, criminal law including prisons, company law and company registration. A section of the site aimed at citizens includes advice on compensation for victims of crimes, legal aid, review of criminal trials and nationality issues. There is information on the Luxembourg courts and Constitutional Court judgements are provided.
