Website of the Legal Services Agency (LSA) a Law Centre and Charity based in Scotland. The organisation provides legal advice and representation for disadvantaged people focusing on issues such as mental illness, poverty, debt, homelessness, women and young people. There is information on the law in Scotland relating to these topics and a number of publications that are free to download from the site. Details are also given of seminars and legal education events held at the LSA.

Consejo General del Notariado

Website of the General Council of Public Notaries of Spain, providing information about purchasing property in Spain, wills and inheritance, forming companies, loans, and other subjects. The site also offers a directory of notaries of Spain and a short section on recent legislation. The English-language section of the site gives background information about notaries and brief advice on areas such as starting a company in Spain.

Government Legal Department

Official website of the Government Legal Department (GLD), formerly the Treasury Solicitor. The website explains the role and kinds of work undertaken by the department as the government’s principal legal advisers. The GLD pages form part of the GOV.UK website and include publications, announcements and consultations. The website gives the names of the management team of the GLD. A link to the Bona Vacantia division of the GLD is also provided.

CompactLaw

CompactLaw is a site offering free and paid-for legal information and services for England and Wales. The service has been established as a privately run and funded company by a small group of UK barristers, solicitors and paralegal specialists. Commercial information includes documents and forms that can be purchased in packs arranged by profession such as health and safety, human resources, e-commerce, landlords and business. Free information is organised by subject into factsheets and FAQs.

Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation

Website of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) an organisation whose aim is to provide legal assistance to deprived people in Indonesia and to campaign for "social justice, human rights and democratic values". The site gives information about the YLBHI detailing its work and activities in post-Suharto Indonesia including case advocacy, development of people's legal resources and policy research. The site can be viewed in English or Indonesian.

Citizens Information

Irish eGovernment website provided by the Citizens Information Board offering information on the social and civil rights of everyone living in Ireland. The site is aimed at the general public and endeavours to be user-friendly and readily accessible. Information is presented under various topical headings reflecting consumer interests, public services and life events: housing, health, birth, personal finance, culture and recreation, justice, etc. The justice section includes information on legal aid, going to court, being a witness, and jury service.

Coram Children's Legal Centre

The Coram Children's Legal Centre is a charitable organisation established in 1981 and based at the University of Essex. The Centre deals with law and policy issues affecting children and young people. The site provides information about the work of the Centre which includes legal advice, research and policy and campaign work. Annual indexes from the Centre's monthly journal, Childright appear on the site. There is a selection of FAQs on common legal issues, and links to other organisations providing services for young people.

Advicenow

The Advicenow resource guide brings together information and tools on matters relating to the law and civil rights in England and Wales. Information is available on topics including benefits, debt, employment, families, going to court, health and social care, housing and homelessness and immigration. Self-help tools are provided to assist with writing letters relating to benefits and there are details of training courses and workshops to help people dealing with common legal problems. Advicenow's research publications and reports are also available.
