The Open Society Justice Initiative is a programme of the Open Society Institute, a private foundation established by the philanthropist George Soros in 1993. It is concerned with the promotion of law reform, the protection human rights and the development of international law. The site gives details of current and past activities, covering areas such as national criminal justice reform, international justice, freedom of information and expression, equality and citizenship, anti-corruption and development of legal capacity.
The International Review of the Red Cross is published quarterly by the International Committee of the Red Cross. It covers international humanitarian law and humanitarian policy and activities. Each issue focuses on a particular subject, for example sanctions. The Review is available online back to 1986, together with selected earlier items.
The Humanitarian Law Center (HLC) is a non-governmental human rights and humanitarian law centre established in 1992 following the conflict in former Yugoslavia. It is based in Serbia. The HLC's work includes researching human rights violations, campaigning for justice and institutional reform and gathering documentation on war crimes. The website provides court documentation, reports, press releases and other information. Details of conferences and courses organised by the HLC are also available. Legislationline is a website provided by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), which is part of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). It consists primarily of a database of selected legal texts from countries within the OSCE region, as well as international legal materials. The purpose of this database is to provide examples of domestic legislation and international standards for the use of lawmakers in OSCE participating states.

The authors provide an introduction to the basic materials and concepts of IHL and give links to sites providing primary sources, including treaties, customary law, judgments of international tribunals and domestic courts, and state practice.
Online guide to the legal issues surrounding the Darfur crisis written by Amy Burchfield who is Access and Faculty Services Librarian at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law Library in the United States. The guide was published in May 2009 (and updated in 2023) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The guide provides background information to the civil conflict in the Darfur region of Sudan and highlights "key online and print resources discussing the legal aspects of the Darfur crisis".
This part of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) website provides free access to the ICRC's International Humanitarian Law (IHL) databases. There is a treaty database which includes IHL treaties and related documents and lists the states that have signed and/or ratified or acceded to the treaties. It also contains the ICRC commentaries to the four 1949 Geneva Conventions and their additional protocols.
