Pacific Legal Network

Pacific Legal Network (PLN) is a group of law firms based in Australia and throughout the Pacific region who have expertise in the Pacific Islands jurisdictions. The website has information about the legal services provided by PLN and two newsletters are made freely available on the site. BankNote covers anti-money laundering issues and PLN News provides news and comment on developments in the law of the Pacific region. There are also legal updates given providing information on new legislation in the region.

Constitution of Fiji

This site contains the full-text of the Constitution of Fiji made freely available in English by International Constitutional Law (ICL) at the University of Bern in Switzerland. The Constitution was adopted in 1988 and this version includes amendments made up to 2000. The document covers the state, citizenship, a Bill of Rights, social justice, Parliament, executive government, the Great Council of Chiefs, the judiciary, accountability and emergency powers.There is background and historical information relating to the Constitution and a link to the Fiji Government website.

Fiji Consolidated Legislation

A PacLII database containing Fiji legislation from the 1985 Revised Edition of the Laws of Fiji, arranged alphabetically. PacLII, the Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute, provides free access to legislation and cases for jurisdictions in the South Pacific. It is a joint initiative of the University of the South Pacific and the Australasian Legal Information Institute.

Fiji Magistrate's Court Decisions

A PacLII database containing decisions of the Fiji Magistrate's Court from 1974 onwards. The cases can be browsed by name or year and there is a search facility. PacLII, the Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute, provides free access to legislation and cases for jurisdictions in the South Pacific. It is a joint initiative of the University of the South Pacific and the Australasian Legal Information Institute.

High Court of Fiji Decisions

A PacLII database containing selected decisions of the High Court of Fiji from 1976 onwards. The cases can be browsed by name or year, and there is a search facility. PacLII, the Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute, provides legislation and cases for jurisdictions in the South Pacific; it is a joint initiative of the University of the South Pacific and the Australasian Legal Information Institute.

Pacific Legal Gateway

The Pacific Legal Gateway is a PacLII project providing access to Pacific legal research. There are links given to PacLII resources via a jurisdiction list and a clickable map. A page of annotated web links provides access to other legal research resources focusing on the Pacific Islands including governmental sites, research guides and news sources. There is also a help page and a selection of FAQs. PacLII is managed as a joint operation between the University of the South Pacific, School of Law, and by the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII):
