Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre

Website of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) a non-profit organisation specialising in dispute resolution including arbitration, mediation, adjudication and domain name dispute resolution. There is information about the arbitration process and other alternative dispute resolution services offered by HKIAC along with rules and practice notes. HKIAC also run the Women In Arbitration (WIA) group and the HK45 group for young arbitration practitioners in Asia. Annual reports and statistics covering the cases HKIAC has been involved with back to 2010 can be found on the site.

Communication & Internet Services Adjudication Scheme

The Communication & Internet Services Adjudication Scheme (CISAS) is a UK dispute resolution provider that looks into complaints about telecommunications and internet companies. The CISAS webpages provide guidance on bringing a complaint, procedural forms, the CISAS Rules, FAQs, a list of the companies covered and information about compensation. Details of the CISAS adjudicators are given under ‘Officials’ and data about the outcomes of complaints cases is found under ‘Reports’. Based in London, CISAS is managed by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution.

Ombudsman Services

The Ombudsman Services is a company providing a range of dispute resolution services focusing on energy, communications, property and consumer issues. Consumers whose complaint has exhausted the internal complaints procedure of a company participating in the scheme are invited to register a complaint. This is a free service for consumers. The site has information on making a complaint, a list of participating companies, guides aimed at students and the elderly and a page of useful links.

Sport Resolutions

Website of Sport Resolutions an independent, not-for-profit, dispute resolution service for sport in the UK. The company was established by key stakeholder groups in sport including the British Athletics Commission, Professional Players Federation and the British Olympic Association and deals with disputes in the following areas: anti-doping; athlete selection; commercial agreements; discrimination; player eligibility; promotion and relegation and safeguarding.

International Commercial Arbitration

Online guide to international commercial arbitration written and updated by Charles Bjork who is International and Foreign Law Reference Librarian at the Georgetown University Law Library. An earlier version of the guide was written in 2014 by Susan Gualtier. This version was published in 2022 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law.

Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution

The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) was established in 1990 and is based in London. It provides legal mediation and arbitration, consultancy and training services to firms, and cases are also referred from outside organisations and the courts. The site gives full details of the services available and procedures for application. There is background information on dispute resolution services including adjudication, arbitration, early neutral intervention, expert determination and mediation.

Chartered Institute of Arbitrators

Web pages of the UK Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the professional body for arbitrators founded in 1915, which aims to promote arbitration as an alternative method of dispute resolution to litigation. The website presents information on different aspects of the Institute's work and services including training courses and news items. There is a link to the Institute's wholly owned subsidiary, IDRS providing details of their commercial and consumer dispute services. Other areas of the site are restricted to members only.

Civil Justice Council

The Civil Justice Council is a UK public body which was set up under the Civil Procedure Act 1997 to keep the civil justice system under review, to advise the government and to make research proposals. Its web pages provide information about CJC working parties and make available publications including responses to official consultations, research papers and annual reports.

National Alternative Dispute Resolution Advisory Council

Website of the National Alternative Dispute Resolution Advisory Council of Australia whose role is to advise "the Commonwealth Attorney-General on the development of high quality, economic and efficient ways of resolving disputes without the need for a judicial decision". There is background information about NADRAC including workplans, annual reports and a copy of NADRAC's charter which are all available to download in a variety of formats.
