A stored search will automatically query all of WorldLII for items about the United Arab Emirates. The WorldLII service is run by the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII).

Dubai Courts

Official website of the Dubai Courts. The site provides a history of the court system and a diagram illustrating the structure of the courts in Dubai. There is an outline of the legal system covering the three stages of litigation: the Court of First Instance: the Court of Appeal and the Court of Cassation including details of the types of cases heard in each court. A small selection of full text laws are given on the site in English along with a list of court hearings and a directory of Dubai lawyers. The site can be viewed in Arabic and English.

United Arab Emirates E-Legal Portal

The United Arab Emirates E-Legal Portal forms part of the UAE Ministry of Justice website. The site includes a collection of full text legislation arranged by subject including environment, housing, security, insurance, finance, telecommunications and weapons. There is also a copy of the UAE Constitution. The collection is presented in English as well as Arabic and can be searched by keyword. Other resources on the site are provided in Arabic only. These include international treaties, civil and criminal High Court decisions and other official publications and consultations.

Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf

Website of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (Gulf Cooperation Council) a trade organisation involving the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait. The site provides organisational and background information about the GCC along with details of work achieved in the areas of legal, security, political and military cooperation between its members. The digital library provides access to agreements and regulations of the GCC covering economics, environment, law and patents.

Website of UEA-based corporate law firm Al Tamimi, which has offices throughout the Middle East and in Morocco. Provides details of the firm's services, staff and practice areas. A collection of publications is available, including guides to doing business in various Middle Eastern jurisdictions, a set of case comments, and the online magazine, Law Update. There are also podcasts and videos on the law of the Middle East and North Africa.

Overview of the United Arab Emirates Legal System

Guide to the legal system of the United Arab Emirates, by academic Ahmed Aly Khedr and UAE government lawyer Bassam Alnuaimi, on New York University's Globalex website. The guide was published in 2014 and updated in 2024 and gives background information about the United Arab Emirates, an outline of its legal system, summary of the influence of Sharia law in the UAE, and highlights the main provisions of the Constitution. The authors provide a description of how laws are made and links are given for a selection of laws (mostly in Arabic).
