Online guide to the law and legal materials of Mongolia written by Chris Melville, Erdenedalai (Dalai) Odkhuu and Anthony Woolley of Hogan Lovells (Mongolia) LLP. The guide was published in 2015 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School at the New York University School of Law. The authors provide an overview and history of the Mongolian legal system highlighting the main sources of law including the Constitution, legislation, international treaties and interpretations of the Supreme Court.

The site has background information about the Court including profiles of members and information on the roles and functions of the Court. Laws are arranged by subject including constitutional, administrative, criminal, civil, commercial, company, employment, health, taxation, banking and intellectual property law. The laws are in full-text and translated into English. The page also provides links to the sources of legislation.

National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia

Website of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia (NHRCM) an organisation concerned with the promotion and protection of human rights in Mongolia. The site has background information about the Commission including an organisation chart and details of commissioners, staff and international partners of the NHRCM. There is also information on the work and activities of the Commission which includes education, research and hearing complaints regarding human rights violations. Annual full text (PDF) reports on the state of human rights and freedoms in Mongolia are also made available.

The guide was published in 2006 (and updated in 2009) on the Globalex website and is made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law.

Constitution of Mongolia

Site containing the full text of the Constitution of Mongolia as adopted in 1992 and made freely available by International Constitutional Law (ICL) at the University of Bern in Switzerland. The Constitution details the structure of the state, the role and powers of the main branches of government including the legislature, executive and judiciary, regional government and the Constitutional Court. It also sets out the rights and responsibilities of the individual citizen within the region.

These pages provide a history of the courts in Mongolia, details of the justices and information on the structure, role and organisation of the Supreme Court. Information is also given on related judicial bodies including the Mongolian Judges Association, the Judicial Disciplinary Committee, the Judicial Qualification Committee and the General Council of Courts.
