World Legal Information Institute Catalog : Eastern Europe

This website is part of the World Legal Information Institute's Catalog of websites. Under each country there are standard headings for courts and case law, government, legislation, lawyers etc. In addition there are more detailed subject headings (Banking and Finance law or intellectual property for example) which vary from country to country. It is also possible to search for terms across the whole Eastern European section. Suggestions for new links can be submitted by email. The site is in English, with Babel Fish Translation available.

Urzad Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów (UOKK)

This is the site of the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection (OCCP) in Poland, which is responsible for counteracting monopolistic practices and protecting consumer rights. The site provides detailed information about the Office: its organizational structure (with an interactive map of the Office branches), listing of leading officials together with their biographies, tasks, powers, competences, and contact details; and a large number of the full-text legal acts on the OCCP's functioning.

Minelres

The Minelres website provides a directory of resources relating to minority human rights and other issues connected with the transition period in Central and Eastern. It includes publications by international and non-governmental organisations, national legislation, bibliographies and country information. The countries covered are Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.

Centre for European Legal Studies

Website of the Centre for European Legal Studies (CELS) at the University of Cambridge. Gives information about the work of CELS and the projects it is concerned with. These cover European Union law and the individual legal systems of European countries. A brief description is given of their involvement with the British Centre for English Legal Studies at Warsaw University in Poland. The site includes details of the staff, management committee, advisory board and fellows of CELS and there is information relating to the centre's past and forthcoming conferences, seminars and lectures.

Krajowa Rada Radiofonii i Telewizji

Official website of the National Broadcasting Council of Poland. The site contains information on the background to the establishment of the Council in 1993 and its composition including contact details for the departments comprising the Council and individual Council members. A documents section contains the text of the relevant chapter of the constitution establishing the Council, several regulations concerning the National Broadcasting Council taken from the official gazette "Dziennik Ustaw", and the Broadcasting Act of 1992. The site can be viewed in Polish and English versions.

Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland

Official site of the Polish Supreme Court, containing information in English about its organisation, legal basis and history. More detailed information is offered in Polish, including the Court Bulletin from 1998 to 2003, major current judicial decisions and news. The Bulletin publishes legal questions, resolutions and decisions from the Administrative, Labour and Insurance Chamber, Civil Chamber and Criminal Chamber. Decisions are listed by case number and date.
