Belgian Science Policy (BELSPO)

This website from the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office provides information on Belgian federal science policy, including overviews of current research programmes, details of international and bilateral co-operation and coordination in the field and upcoming conferences and symposia. Air and space policy and law is covered in some detail. The site gives an overview of Belgian space law and provides links to the English text of the Law on the Activities of Launching, Flight Operation or Guidance of Space Objects (2005) and also of the Royal Implementing Decree (2008).

London Institute of Space Policy and Law

The London Institute of Space Policy and Law (ISPL) brings together legal practitioners and academics in the field of space law conducting research and providing educational programs for policy-makers, lawyers, the judiciary, government, administrators and students. The website provides information on projects and events offered by the ISPL along with details of the Advisory Board and Faculty. There is a page of links to other space law and policy resources and organisations worldwide. The ISPL is based in London and is associated with the Institute of Advanced legal Studies.

European Civil Aviation Conference

The European Civil Aviation Conference aims to "promote the continued development of a safe, efficient and sustainable European air transport system." The site gives details of their activities; integrating new member states from Eastern and Central Europe, safety, security, improving Air Traffic Management and liaising with representatives of the civil aviation industry outside Europe. The news section has press releases, there are details of forthcoming events and a quarterly magazine. These publications and other documentation is in downloadable PDF format.

ACI Europe

The ACI is a non-profit organisation of airport operators that aims to represent their interests. Their European region site has details of conferences, news releases and policy statements on matters such as air passenger rights, environmental issues, airport charges and security. There is also an airports database, although advanced search is restricted to ACI members. The site is in English.

International Civil Aviation Organization

Website of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the UN specialised agency concerned with safety and security in air travel. The website has information about the ICAO and details of its various programmes of work, including the Aviation Security Programme, the Safety and Security Audit programme and work on environmental issues including aircraft noise and emissions. Details are given of free and chargable publications. Free materials include reports, forms and nationality marks.

Institute of Air and Space Law

Website developed by the Institute of Air and Space Law (based at McGill University, Quebec, Canada) providing extensive links to air and aviation law and space law resources on the internet. The site contains links to primary materials such as international conventions and related protocols on air and aviation law and space law. Public and private international law conventions are included. The full-text of these conventions are offered in English or French. The site also provides a table which shows the status of individual countries with regard to international air law instruments.

Air Accidents Investigation Branch

The United Kingdom Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is the part of the Department of Transport responsible for investigating the causes of civil aircraft accidents. Its website contains information on the work of the organisation, including its history and the civil aviation laws and regulations within which it operates. The site also provides reports on air safety and the Air Accident Monthly Bulletin from 2005 onwards. 

Air Transport Users Council

The website of the Air Transport Users Council (AUC), an online information resource detailing the Council's role and remit. Describing itself as the 'UK's consumer watchdog for the airline industry', the organisation is funded by the Civil Aviation Authority. The site provides information about the Council's members, secretariat and terms of reference within the framework of existing legislation. A section giving full-text access to AUC publications is accessible from the site, files available as PDF files.

Air Accident Investigation Unit

The website of the Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) is an online resource giving access to information about the organisation's role in investigations into aircraft accidents in Ireland. The site includes details of regulations under which it operates. Reports published by the AAIU relating to specific accidents and incidents are published on the site in PDF. These reports are aimed at informing the aviation industry and the public about these events, and are added to the site on completion of the report.

Danish Civil Aviation Administration

Statens LuftfartsvÁsen, the Danish Civil Aviation Administration is the government organisation responsible for aviation regulation in Denmark, the Faeroe Islands and Greenland. This website outlines the organisation's responsibilities as regulator and gives an overview of its vision and organisation. There is an area giving access to Danish air law and regulations, including links to international organisations concerned with establishing international aviation standards.
