The Working Group explores the use of ICSID arbitration clauses in contracts between private investors and state parties. The enquiry draws on work previously undertaken at IALS and aims to combine academic, empirical and practical analysis in order to work towards a framework for the use of the ICSID system in contractual dispute resolution. The project aims to involve stakeholders from all stages of the investment and dispute settlement process.
Core members of the Working Group are:
- Professor Mads Andenæs QC (IALS and University of Oslo)
- Dr Maren Heidemann (IALS)
- Professor Andreas Geroldinger (Johannes Kepler University Linz)
