Professor William Twining was a CLEA officer as follows:

The papers were deposited in the Records of Legal Education Archives in 1996 by Professor Twining. They comprise the following files, arranged chronologically:-
i) Papers as a member of CLEA committees, including ad hoc committees, Advisory Panel (1977-1978) and Executive Committees (1980-1983), 1973-1983;
ii) papers as Chairman 1983-1990;
iii) papers as Executive Chairman 1990-1994;
iv) papers relating to the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI), 1988-1990. CHRI was an area in which the CLEA was involved primarily as a member and supporter. CLEA nominated one member to CHRI and had representatives on the CHRI's Advisory Commission and Steering Committee; William Twining was one of those representatives. CLEA also played a major role in drafting the CHRI report Put our World to Rights.
Professor Twining also passed copies of various CLEA publications to the Archives. They have been added to the relevant publications classes.
