Loans from the Main collection:
Members in Category W may borrow:
FOUR books from the Main Collection at any time in the day for use outside the library for a 4 week period. This period may be reduced if another reader requests the book. It is usually possible to renew the books up to a maximum of three times, reservations permitting.
Members in Category B may borrow:
FOUR books from the main collection at any time during the day for use outside the library.
These books must be returned by 11.00pm the next working day (8.30pm on Saturday). No books are due back on Sunday. Alternatively, they may be renewed up to a maximum of three times, reservations permitting.
Fines are charged on the late return of all books borrowed from the main collection to encourage their prompt return. All the money collected from fines will be added to the Library’s Book Fund to support new acquisitions. The minimum fine per normal loan item is £1.00. The fine increases if the item remains overdue at a rate of £1.00 per day/ part day.
During the shorter summer opening hours, these due times will be 7.45pm Monday to Friday and 5.15pm on Saturday.
The arrangement for loans from the Short Loan is the same for both categories:
THREE books may be borrowed from the Short Loan Collection at one time. These books are due back by 10am the next day (or by 11am on a Saturday) and may be used outside the Library. Books may be renewed at the Enquiry desk.
Fines are charged on the late return of all Short Loan books. The fine is 50p per hour or part hour to encourage prompt return.
