Prior to 1997 the Gesetzblatt was a unitary publication, containing laws, treaties and international agreements, ministerial regulations and ministerial and government notices. In 1997 it split into three parts: Teil 1, Bundesgesetze [Federal laws]; Teil 2, Verordnungen [Secondary legislation]; Teil 3 Völkerrecht [International law]
