Online guide to the law and legal resources of the Maldives written by Mohamed Ibrahim who is an advocate at the Supreme Court of Maldives and Md. Ershadul Karim who is a non-practicing lawyer of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. The guide was published in 2013 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law.
The authors give background information on the constitution and political system of the Maldives. There is an outline of the role of the President, the Judicial Service Commission and other statutory bodies including links to their websites. Information is also given on parliament (People’s Majlis) and the judicial system. A selection of links to sources of Maldivian laws is provided many of which are available in Dhivehi only.
