Prime Minister's Office Denmark

This is the official website of the Prime Minister of Denmark. It provides information about the roles and responsibilities of the Prime Minister and details about the current incumbent. The latter includes a brief biography and access to recent press releases, important articles and speech transcripts. These cover all aspects of social, economic, political and foreign policy. The site is available in English or Danish versions.

Folktinget

The Folketinget is the parliament of Denmark. Its website is available in both English and Danish. The English version offers information on the history and duties of the Danish parliament. It includes information about electoral administration and the electoral laws. The Danish version provides more detailed information about parliamentary business. It offers the full text of all official documents produced during the current session, including parliamentary debates, parliamentary bills and committee documents.

Althingi

Althingi is the name of the Icelandic parliament. Basic information is available in English and Danish, covering the nature and operation of the Icelandic parliamentary system. There is also a list of current members of parliament. More detailed information concerning parliamentary business and debates is offered in Icelandic only. The legislation of Iceland is also published here (in Icelandic), in the section entitled "Lagasafn".

Hæstiréttur Íslands

Website of the Supreme Court of Iceland, the highest judicial authority in Iceland. To display the English section of the site, select 'English' then click on the black arrows. The website provides limited information about the history and role of the Supreme Court, court procedure and the court building. The last page of the English section summarises what is available in Icelandic on the website; this includes judgments and details of current court business. Contact information can be found under the heading "Um Hæstarétt". The site also has a Danish section.

FlygtningenÁvnet

This is the website of FlygtningenÁvnet (The Refugee Board) which is described as being an "independent court-like body whose most important task is to process appeal cases after the Danish Immigration Service has refused to grant asylum in the first instance. The Board is not dependent on the political process and, hence, it is not subjected to Government or Parliamentary directives." The site includes a newsletter, information on the Refugee Board and its tasks, background material about the legal status of refugees, publications and links to other organisations working with refugees.

Prime Minister's Office: Faroe Islands

Website of the Prime Minister's Office of the Faroe Islands. Includes information on the role of the Prime Minister, details of previous Prime Ministers, and information about the current Prime Minister and other members of the government. The site provides background information on the government, politics, industry, language and culture of the Faroes. A selection of government papers can be found on the site along with press releases and links to other Faroese websites. The site can be viewed in English or Faroese.
