Just for Kids Law

Website of Just for Kids Law, a children’s rights charity that provides legal representation, advice, direct advocacy and support for children and young people. Just for Kids Law also campaigns for the promotion of children’s legal rights and the website has information about their work on school exclusion, youth justice, housing and social care. The charity has been involved with cases that have brought about changes in the law dealing with criminal records, joint enterprise and immigration. The site includes news items and a blog.

Children and Armed Conflict Unit

The Children and Armed Conflict Unit is a joint project of the Children's Legal Centre and the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex. Its aim is to provide information on the impact of war on children and to analyse existing human rights law in order to provide a better protection of childrens' rights. Its website provides information on the scope of the project, recent news stories relating to on-going conflicts worldwide, and details of the Unit's recent field visits to specific war zones.

Coram Children's Legal Centre

The Coram Children's Legal Centre is a charitable organisation established in 1981 and based at the University of Essex. The Centre deals with law and policy issues affecting children and young people. The site provides information about the work of the Centre which includes legal advice, research and policy and campaign work. Annual indexes from the Centre's monthly journal, Childright appear on the site. There is a selection of FAQs on common legal issues, and links to other organisations providing services for young people.

Donde esta la justica?: a call to action on behalf of Latino and Latina youth in the U.S. justice system

This is the 7th report (2003) by the Building Blocks for Youth alliance, which aims to protect minority youth, who are over-represented in the US justice system and receive harsher treatment than white people for the same offences. Recommendations are made to all those involved with Latino and Latina youth with the aim of resolving these problems. The document is available on the website of the Open Society Foundation.
