Parliament of Ghana

Official website of the Parliament of Ghana. There is information on the history of the Ghanian parliament, profiles of mps and an outline of how laws are made. A selection of full text legislation is given along with recent order papers and entries in Hansard. Details of the various committees are also given and policy briefs, fact sheets and budget statements can be viewed in full.

How parliament treats treaties

Created by Arabella Lang of the House of Commons Library at the Parliament of the UK, this research briefing provides information on the parliamentary scrutiny and ratification of treaties. An overview is available either in HTML format and the full 50-page document is in PDF format. It goes into detail over how treaties arrive in Parliament and what the powers and limitations of Parliament are.

Parliamentary Monitoring Group

The Parliamentary Monitoring Group (PMG) provides access to committee proceedings of the South African National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces (upper chamber) in the form of detailed, unofficial minutes. Details of public hearings and ministerial replies to MPs' written questions are given and it is also possible to track the progress of bills and view the act in full text. Information is given on the provincial legislatures including profiles of members, committees and contact details. The PMG blog highlights important Parliamentary events of the current week.

Bermuda Parliament

Official website of the Bermuda Parliament which is a bicameral legislature with two chambers - the House of Assembly (a lower house of elected members) and the Senate (the upper house with appointed members). The site has profiles of MPs and details of parliamentary committees. There are also bills, statutory instruments, standing orders and parliamentary questions given  for both houses. Hansard is available for the House of Assembly back to 2010.

Erskine May

The UK Parliament website provides free access to the current edition of Erskine May’s Treatise on the Law, Privileges, Proceedings and Usage of Parliament, the preeminent reference book on all aspects of UK parliamentary procedure. The book can be searched by key word, browsed by part and chapter, or accessed via the index.

Indian Parliament

The website of the Parliament of India provides information about the lower and upper chambers, the Lok Sabha (LS) and the Rajya Sabha (RS), and about the President of India. There are profiles of MPs and a copy of the Constitution. Full text bills, committee reports, speeches and debates are also given along with schedules of parliamentary business and rules of procedure. The Knowledge Centre section of the site provides access to research reports and other publications.  The site is available in English or Hindi.

European Parliament

The European Parliament’s website offers a large amount of information the institution, its political groups and members. The home page has links livestreamed parliamentary proceedings and news. It also links to the Legislative Observatory and Legislative Train, both of which track the progress of legislation, and to the EP's Think Tank, which provides policy analysis. The Plenary section covers parliamentary proceedings and there is a Committees section focusing on the activities of parliamentary committees. The site can be viewed in any of the official languages of the EU.

Parlamento Italiano

Official website of the Italian parliament, with information about its members and functions. Laws from 1996 onwards can be browsed by date, type or subject and legislation in progress can also be browsed, along with the decreti-leggi currently being considered and decreti-legislativi from 1996 onwards. Reports, agendas and other documents relating to parliamentary proceedings are also provided, along with information on the work of parliamentary committees.

Parliament of Finland

This is the website of the parliament of Finland (Suomen Eduskunta). The site provides details of the parliament's history, speakers, committees, parties and the electoral system, alongside information about international cooperation and the parliament's relations with the EU. There is a searchable directory of members of parliament, a collection of statistical data on parliament and a diagram showing the organisation of the Parliamentary Office, depicting the hierarchical relationships between various parliamentary bodies.

Church of England Measures

One of a series of concise factsheets produced by the House of Commons Information Office and published on the website of the UK Parliament. The Church of England Measures factsheet, last revised in 2010, provides a brief history of how the internal government of the Church came under Crown control. Current legislative procedure for the Church of England is clarified, with particular emphasis on the legislative powers remaining with Parliament.
