Kiribati consolidated legislation

From the Kiribati section of the PACLII database. This database contains electronic versions of selected legislation from the 1980 revised edition of the Laws of Kiribati, including the Constitution of Kiribati. A separate database contains the session laws from subsequent years. Content can be browsed alphabetically, or accessed via a hyper-linked index at the foot of the page. There is also a clear link to a search page where this data-file can be selected to be searched across.

Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute

The Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute (PacLII) provides free internet access to legislation and cases for jurisdictions in the South Pacific. Islands covered by the service include American Samoa, the Cook Islands, Fiji, Guam, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, the Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. A site search form allows specific database selection and query with boolean functionality.

Law of the Pacific Islands

A guide to web-based resources, listing and describing internet sites providing legislation, law reports and government information for the Pacific Island region. The guide has been written by Ruth Bird who is Bodleian Law Librarian at the University of Oxford, Dianne Thompson who is a Librarian at the Legal Services Commission of South Australia and Anna Matich of the ASIC in Brisbane. The guide was published in the features section of LLRX.com in July 2008 and updates previous versions published in October 2000, April 2002 and December 2005.

World Law: Kiribati

Section of WorldLII's World Law service containing links to Internet resources for Kiribati. A range of browse and search features is available on the site. Browse sections include links covering the Courts, Legislation, and Parliament. A stored search will automatically search for materials relating to Kiribati on all of World Law, in Other Indexes and in Law Journals. A web spider search facility offers high focus searches of selected remote sites. Site help and on screen translation facilities are also available.

Journal of South Pacific Law

Website of The Journal of South Pacific Law which is published by the School of Law at the University of the South Pacific and made freely available online in full-text. Content is focused on the laws of the South Pacific region including the jurisdictions of the Cook Islands, Fiji Islands, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. The journal publishes a wide range of material and legal research including refereed articles, working papers, conference reports, case notes and book reviews.

Commonwealth Legal Information Institute

The Commonwealth Legal Information Institute (CommonLII) is a cooperative legal information initiative led by AustLII (the Australasian Legal Information Institute) providing access to freely available legal materials from all Commonwealth countries. CommonLII contains over 400 databases providing case law, legislation, treaties and law reform reports from more than 50 Commonwealth and common law countries and territories.

Pacific Islands Treaty Series

A Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute (PacLII) resource containing bilateral and multilateral treaties affecting Pacific Island countries and last updated in 2009. The interface is available in English or French. Under "Other Resources", there is background information about each country and details of treaty-making procedures, along with a glossary of treaty terms. PacLII is a joint initiative involving the University of the South Pacific and the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII).

Court of Appeal of Kiribati Decisions

A PacLII database containing decisions of the Court of Appeal of Kiribati from 1979 onwards. Cases can be browsed by name or year, and there is a search facility. PacLII, the Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute, provides free access to legislation and cases for jurisdictions in the South Pacific. It is a joint initiative involving the University of the South Pacific and the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII).
