Mercosur Permanent Review Tribunal

Website of the Mercosur Tribunal, the body with responsibility for resolving disputes between member states relating to Mercosur law. Mercosur is the Southern Common Market, a South American trading bloc which includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela and Bolivia. The site outlines the structure of the Tribunal and gives profiles of the arbitrators. Regulations relating to the court and to the Mercosur dispute settlement mechanism, including the Treaty of Asunción which established Mercosur, are also provided along with awards and advisory opinions.

Mercosur Parliament

Website of the Mercosur Parliament (PARLASUR), a forum representing the interests of citizens of the MERCOSUR countries. Mercosur is the Southern Common Market, a South American trading bloc which includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela and Bolivia. The site gives contact details of the MPs, information on the various commissions and on the work of the Democracy Observatory which aims to strengthen democracy and human rights within Mercosur states. The site can be viewed in Spanish or Portuguese.

African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)

Website of the AfCFTA Secretariat providing information on the African Continental Free Trade Area. The site outlines the aims of the AfCFTA which include creating a single market for the African continent and boosting its trading position globally. There are profiles of the countries who are signatories to the agreement and an overview of the protocols which include trade in goods and services, dispute settlement and customs and trade facilitation. A full text copy of the Agreement is given along with the e-tariff book and a selection of publications produced by the AfCFTA Secretariat.

Guide to MERCOSUR Legal Research: Sources and Documents

Online guide to researching the work of Mercosur, the trading bloc of South American countries (Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay). The guide is by Edgardo Rotman who is Foreign and International Law Librarian and Senior Lecturer in International and Comparative Law at the University of Miami School of Law. The guide was last updated in 2024 by Gloria Orrego Hoyos and Mariel Romaniand and is freely available on New York University's Globalex website. It gives background information and precedents and provides details of the basic documents, arranged by subject.

Union Du Maghreb Arabe

This is the official website of the Arab Maghreb Union, the international organisation which seeks closer social, political and economic cooperation between the Maghreb Arab nations. Members include: Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Mauritania and Algeria. It provides information on the aims of the organisation, facts about its member nations and details of recent activities, conferences and summits. It also includes access to the full-text of recent economic trade agreements and treaties signed by the group. The site is offered in French or Arabic.
