A user guide to the Marrakesh Treaty

Online article providing guidance to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Marrakesh Treaty that was adopted in 2013. The article was written by Jonathan Band, a lawyer representing Internet companies and library associations on intellectual property issues, and published on LLRX.com in August 2013. The aim of the Treaty is to promote the production of books and other materials in accessible formats for people with print disabilities. The article gives an overview to the Treaty and explains its provisions.

ITTIG: Databases

This page on the ITTIG (Institute of Legal Information Theory and Techniques) website provides information about and links to the various legal databases maintained by ITTIG. Most of the databases are bibliographic and cover articles from legal journals, disability law, information technology law, environmental law and bibliographies on various legal topics. Some of the databases are no longer updated. Free registration is required to access some of the resources. The site can be viewed in Italian and English.

Traffic Penalty Tribunal

Website of the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for England and Wales an independent tribunal which hears appeals brought by motorists who have been issued with parking penalties. The site provides information on the adjudication process and the steps involved in challenging a Penalty Charge Notice and the removal or clamping of a vehicle. There are examples of Adjudicators' decisions in appeals grouped by parking regulation. These are intended to show the sort of appeals that are likely to be successful. The site also has links to relevant legislation and a glossary of terms.

Disability Studies Resources Guide: Disability Rights & Policy

Resource guide for disability rights and policy on the website of Syracuse University. The guide is arranged into broad sections providing access to policy websites, United Nations documents and United States organisations and government bodies. Direct links are given to the Americans with Disabilities Act 1990 and to related disabilities laws and regulations.

United Nations: Department of Economic and Social Affairs Disability

This part of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs website provides information on the Department's work involving people with disabilities. There is a link to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and to information on the work of other UN agencies concerning disabilities. There is guidance on how the Sustainable Development Goals work for disabled people and details of recent events and issues are given.

Disability Law Service

The Disability Law Service (DLS) is a UK charity providing information and advice for disabled people.  Its website has information about the DLS and its work, including its annual reports. Factsheets are provided on assessment of and services for disabled children, special educational needs, benefits and driving licences for disabled people. There is also information on training courses and campaigns, together with news and useful links.
