Johore Bar Committee

Official website of the Johore Bar Committee, a body representing legal practitioners in the Malaysian state of Johor. The site includes details of the members of the Committee, Secretariat (including contact details) and Sub-Committees, news and events, a history of the Johore Bar, an overview of Malaysian legal and judicial services, contact details for courts, legal offices, judicial officers and government departments, Malaysia-wide legal directories and a Public Awareness section giving details of the law in areas such as divorce and making a will.

Florida Law Online

An independent website developed by attorney James H. Wyman as a service for lawyers, students and the public. The site is a gateway to online legal information relating to the U.S. State of Florida. It covers Florida case law, court rules and forms; Florida laws (including the Constitution); the Florida Executive (including opinions of the Attorney General); the legislative process (including bills and legislative rules); municipal codes and ordinances; legal journals; and legal directories. The interface allows this information to be either searched or browsed.

Center for the Study of Human Rights, Columbia University

Website of the Center for the Study of Human Rights, Columbia University, New York. The Center was established in 1978 and seeks to promote human rights education, training and interdisciplinary research. The site presents information about the Center, its staff, board and aims. Details are provided about academic programs, the visiting scholars program, research and conferences. The Centre has two capacity building programs: the Human Rights Advocates Program, which aims to prepare leaders from the Global South and marginalized communities in the U.S.

Web pages of Chambers and Partners, providing searchable versions of their directories of leading lawyers: Chambers UK, Chambers Europe, Chambers USA, Chambers Global and Chambers Asia. The directories give independent rankings and editorial comment based on Chambers' own research; profiles provided by the firms and individuals themselves; and contact details. The directories can be searched by practice area, firm/barristers' chambers, lawyer's name or country (where appropriate). The Chambers Student Guide is also available.

Legal 500

Online versions of Legalease's directories to the legal profession: Legal 500, Asia Pacific Legal 500 and the US Legal 500 and the Europe, Middle East and Africa Legal 500. The site lists legal practitioners and firms from all over the world, searchable by country and region. Overviews of the legal market in each country are given along with legal news and law firm news. There are articles on different specialisations within commercial law written by legal practitioners.

Village de la Justice: le Carrefour des Juristes sur Internet

The "Village de la Justice" is designed as a meeting point on the internet for French lawyers, to facilitate contact between them and to help them exchange information. Some features are also provided for individual citizens interested in legal topics. The site was created in 1997 by the French legal publisher L?giteam, and has been growing since. Users can choose the "espace pro" or the "espace grand public". The professional space provides a variety of news updates and contributed articles, debates, job and training details, and email forums.

Canadian Law List

Website of a directory of Canadian law firms, lawyers, judges and government departments produced by the Canadian legal publisher Canada Law Book Inc. and made freely available online. The directory provides profiles and contact details (including email and website addresses) for each entry and is searchable by individual lawyer, law firm, region, practice area and government department. An online form and payment details are included on the site enabling lawyers or law firms to submit their own entry to the directory.

International Rule of Law Directory

Global directory of organisations working to support the rule of law, compiled by the International Bar Association (IBA). Ten areas of activity are covered: administration of justice; alternative dispute resolution; assisting lawyers and human rights defenders; assisting law schools and universities; legal protection of human rights; assisting police and prison workers; assisting refugees and asylum seekers; financial assistance to uphold the rule of law; promoting law reform; and research. The Directory can be searched or browsed.
