A BAILII database containing decisions of the Northern Ireland Social Security and Child Support Commissioners'. These are members of the judiciary who hear appeals on points of law relating to benefits and child support from Appeal Tribunals under the Social Security and Child Support legislation.The database contains decisions from 1988 onwards to date. Cases are arranged chronologically by year and using the Commissioners' own numbering system which is explained on the site. The system also offers a comprehensive search facility and Recent Cases listing.

The role of SSAC is to provide advice on social security matters and to report on social security regulations referred to it by the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and the Department of Social Development in Northern Ireland.
