The rightsnet website is designed to provide up to date welfare rights information and news for advice workers. It is managed by lasa (London Advice Services Alliance) [q.v.]. The site provides a news section, training, policy news, an email discussion group and summaries of the latest welfare benefit and tax credit case law from the Administrative Appeals Chamber of the Upper Tribunal for subscribers.The Toolkit facility of the site provides links to sites offering legislation, case law, current benefit rates and factsheets.

Northern Ireland Social Security and Child Support Commissioners' Decisions

A BAILII database containing decisions of the Northern Ireland Social Security and Child Support Commissioners'. These are members of the judiciary who hear appeals on points of law relating to benefits and child support from Appeal Tribunals under the Social Security and Child Support legislation.The database contains decisions from 1988 onwards to date. Cases are arranged chronologically by year and using the Commissioners' own numbering system which is explained on the site. The system also offers a comprehensive search facility and Recent Cases listing.

Social Security Programs Throughout the World

A four volume series covering social security systems in Europe, Asia and the Pacific, Africa, and the Americas, produced by the US Social Security Administration (SSA) and the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and made freely available on the SSA Website. This reference work provides summaries of social security systems in individual countries up to 2018/19. The publication has now ceased, but the website links to ISSA country profiles that are still updated.

Social Security Advisory Committee

Website of the Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) a UK advisory body on social security issues. The role of SSAC is to provide advice on social security matters and to report on social security regulations referred to it by the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and the Department of Social Development in Northern Ireland. The site provides background and historical information about the Committee and profiles of its members. There are details of consultations currently being carried out which are made available as PDF documents.

Citizens Advice

Help and guidance for the general public in the UK on law and rights relating to privacy, benefits, housing, employment, debt, discrimination, consumer protection, immigration and other topics. The site is produced by Citizens Advice, a charity. Where appropriate, users are directed to additional sources of expert advice. It is in Welsh and English.

National Center for Law and Economic Justice

The National Center for Law and Economic Justice (formerly the Welfare Law Center) helps those on low incomes to access the benefits to which they are entitled through litigation, advocacy and policy analysis. Its website gives details of its recent cases, advocacy, and support work with grassroots groups. News and other information is provided on key issues, including civil rights, racial justice, disability rights, food stamps and health care. There is also a blog and an archive of NCLEJ newsletters.
