Details are given for international treaties and cases, European directives, regulations and cases and other documentation. Links to national legal materials are also given for a range of jurisdictions. The site is edited by legal academics at the University of Southampton and aimed at practitioners, students and researchers and anyone interested in aviation law.

Its website has a ‘Knowledge Bank’ consisting of articles, briefings, case commentary and newsletters covering business and finance, commercial disputes, shipping, international trade, energy and aviation.

Belgian Science Policy (BELSPO)

This website from the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office provides information on Belgian federal science policy, including overviews of current research programmes, details of international and bilateral co-operation and coordination in the field and upcoming conferences and symposia. Air and space policy and law is covered in some detail. The site gives an overview of Belgian space law and provides links to the English text of the Law on the Activities of Launching, Flight Operation or Guidance of Space Objects (2005) and also of the Royal Implementing Decree (2008).

Accident Investigation : TWA Flight 800, Atlantic Ocean, near East Moriches, New York, July 17, 1996

Presents an abstract of the final report of the Investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board into the in-flight break-up of TWA Flight 800 on July 17, 1996, over the Atlantic Ocean near New York State, USA. Other items published on this site include documents of a Public Hearing on the accident investigation, held in December 1997, and documents on the investigation 1998-2000, including press releases, statements by the Chairman, factual reports, interview transcripts, and documents pertaining to witnesses.

Institute of Air and Space Law

Website developed by the Institute of Air and Space Law (based at McGill University, Quebec, Canada) providing extensive links to air and aviation law and space law resources on the internet. The site contains links to primary materials such as international conventions and related protocols on air and aviation law and space law. Public and private international law conventions are included. The full-text of these conventions are offered in English or French. The site also provides a table which shows the status of individual countries with regard to international air law instruments.

Air Accidents Investigation Branch

The United Kingdom Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is the part of the Department of Transport responsible for investigating the causes of civil aircraft accidents. Its website contains information on the work of the organisation, including its history and the civil aviation laws and regulations within which it operates. The site also provides reports on air safety and the Air Accident Monthly Bulletin from 2005 onwards.

Website of Aviation Attorneys.com an online directory of aviation lawyers in the United States. The site is part of ExpertHub which provides directories for a range of professions The directory is not browsable but enables users to email aviation lawyers in their area. The site includes free articles on aviation law covering aviation accidents, airport complaints, aircraft licences and aviation injury claims.Users can post questions and comments on the site and there is a glossary of aviation law terms.

Air Safety Support International

The website of the Air Safety Support International (ASSI) is an online information resource that aims to provide information about the organisation's role and activities within the framework of civil aviation regulation in the UK Overseas Territories (OTs). As a subsidiary company of the UK Civil Aviation Authority, ASSI's role is to assist and support existing civil aviation authorities in their safety regulation in these territories. A page with a listing of the OTs is provided with links to their websites.

Air Transport Users Council

The website of the Air Transport Users Council (AUC), an online information resource detailing the Council's role and remit. Describing itself as the 'UK's consumer watchdog for the airline industry', the organisation is funded by the Civil Aviation Authority. The site provides information about the Council's members, secretariat and terms of reference within the framework of existing legislation. A section giving full-text access to AUC publications is accessible from the site, files available as PDF files.

Air Accident Investigation Unit

The website of the Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) is an online resource giving access to information about the organisation's role in investigations into aircraft accidents in Ireland. The site includes details of regulations under which it operates. Reports published by the AAIU relating to specific accidents and incidents are published on the site in PDF. These reports are aimed at informing the aviation industry and the public about these events, and are added to the site on completion of the report.
