Finding the Law of the Micro-States and Small Jurisdictions of Europe

Online guide, written by Andrew Grossman who is a retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer, to finding sources of primary and secondary law for “small jurisdictions” of Europe -defined as “political entities having a population under one million persons”. The guide was published in 2024 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The author gives links to academic works on micro-states and to law libraries that hold printed materials on these jurisdictions.

Taxation of Real Estate Transactions: A Comparative Study of Selected Mediterranean Jurisdictions

Online guide to the legal and tax framework for foreigners acquiring real estate in Portugal, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lebanon and Montenegro, written by Marin Ljubić who is a Candidate of Postgraduate Doctoral Study at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. The guide was published in 2022 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. For each jurisdiction the author looks at whether foreigners can purchase real estate, which taxes are applied and gives links to relevant legislation.

Constitutional Court of the Republic of Montenegro

Official website of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro. The site has historical information on the Court since its establishment in 1963 and information on its jurisdiction, organisation and judges. There is a full text copy of the Constitution (in Croatian only) and legislation relating to the Constitutional Court. A selection of resolutions of the Court can be viewed in English. These deal with the status of religious organisations, the election of municipal delegates and changes to the labour law. More case law is available to view in Croatian.
