African Legal Information Institute

The African Legal Information Institute (AfricanLII) makes available treaties, cases, resolutions, decisions, reports and other publications of African regional organisations. It also provides access to legislation and cases from 16 African countries, via its search facility. The home page has links to regional and national African websites. AfricanLII is a project of the Democratic Governance and Rights Unit (DGRU) at the University of Cape Town law faculty.

Database of the Constitutions of Sub-Saharan Africa

Database of constitutions and constitutional documents of African countries, provided by the University of Konstanz. The contents can be searched or browsed by jurisdiction. The database was been compiled by Katharina Holzinger, Florian Kern and Daniela Kromrey of the Department of Politics and Public Administration. Documents are provided in the original language; some historical versions are available as well as recent texts. Most can be downloaded and/or accessed via links to other websites.

The Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland

Provides an introduction to the Kingdom and Government of Swaziland both for national and overseas users. This includes drop-down links to pages for all the government departments with an outline of policies/services offered and background information. Another part focuses on a brief history of the King of Swaziland and his current role. There are sections for local citizens, businesses and visiting tourists. Access is given in PDF format to a 2012 budget speech, speech from the Throne and government press statement.

World Law: Swaziland

Part of WorldLII's Countries service covering the Kingdom of Swaziland. Browse and search features are provided. Link collections include materials relating to the Government, Parliament, Courts and Foreign Investment. A stored search will automatically query all of WorldLII for items about Swaziland. Forced evictions and disability rights in Africa

Online article looking at forced evictions and disability rights in Africa written by Buhle Angelo Dube who is a lecturer at the University of Swaziland's Law Department. The article was published in 2008 (and updated in 2023 by Sibusiso Nhlabatsi) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The first section explains the background to forced evictions and their impact in Africa and focuses on this practice in Ghana, Swaziland and Botswana.

Southern Africa Litigation Centre

The Southern Africa Litigation Centre began as  a joint initiative between the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA). It works to foster human rights, democracy, the rule of law and access to justice in the region by means of advocacy, litigation, training and capacity building. The Centre's website has information about its cases, together with reports, briefings, statements, articles and news. The content can be browsed by topic or by country. 

Law and legal research in Eswatini

Guide to the law of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) by lawyer Buhle Angelo Dube and law student Alfred S. Magagula. The guide was published on New York University's Globalex website in 2012 and updated in 2023 by Sibusiso Nhlabatsi. The authors give an introduction and historical overview of Swaziland and information on the sources of law: the Constitution; legislation; common law; judicial precedent; customary law; royal decrees and international law.
