Database of the Constitutions of Sub-Saharan Africa

Database of constitutions and constitutional documents of African countries, provided by the University of Konstanz. The contents can be searched or browsed by jurisdiction. The database was been compiled by Katharina Holzinger, Florian Kern and Daniela Kromrey of the Department of Politics and Public Administration. Documents are provided in the original language; some historical versions are available as well as recent texts. Most can be downloaded and/or accessed via links to other websites.

Assemblée Nationale du Burundi

The website of the National Assembly of Burundi describes its history, function and structure. Also provided are the parliamentary agenda, parliamentary bills and the text of legislation enacted from 2004 onwards. The website is in French. Some information on the history and structure of the Assembly is provided in English.

Burundi legal system and research

Guide to the legal system and law of Burundi by lawyers Jean-Claude Barakamfitiye and Janvier Ncamatwi. Published on New York University's Globalex website in 2007 (and updated in 2024) it outlines the history and legal system of Burundi and the structure of its government,  describes the sources of law and the court system and examines human rights issues. It also gives links to Burundian internet resources, including news sites, NGOs and the government website.

Droit des affaires au Burundi

Information and documentation relating to the business and company law of Bénin, provided by French law and tax publisher Droit-Afrique. The site gives details of pan-African organisations of which Burundi is a member, and provides commercial and company codes and employment laws for Burundi. There is a page of links to the websites of African organisations and other sites providing legal information on Burundi. The site is in French only.
