A legal research guide for Asia and the Pacific region, created by the library at the University of Sydney. Includes regional legal information as well as covering twenty-five individual jurisdictions. For each jurisdiction, there are annotated links to sources of legislation and cases, information about the legal system, information relating to international law (such as participation in treaties), and links to research guides.  

Prime Minister's Office of Bangladesh

Official website of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The site provides information about the current Prime Minister including speeches, budgets and the most recent election manifesto. There is also information on the structure and activities of the Prime Minister's Office with links to the various departments within the PMO. Some documents are written in Bengali, but the majority of information is available in English.

Bangladesh Election Commission

This is the official website of the main electoral body of Bangladesh which is responsible for administering elections in the region. It provides access to background information on the operation of the electoral system, electoral laws and key statistics on votes cast in all elections from 1973 to date. Also accessible is recent news and election results and official government press releases relevant to the topic. The site can be viewed in Bengali with an English interface.

Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh

This is the official gateway to the internet sites of the Bangladeshi government. It provides links to the main ministries, the judiciary, other government departments and parliament. There is background information on the legal, education, governmental, health and tax systems in Bangladesh. Also provided are links to current news about the region, the full-text of the constitution and recent economic and budgetary reports. All information is offered in English.

Law Commission of Bangladesh

Website of the Bangladesh Law Commission, the body dealing with law reform issues in Bangladesh. The site provides background on the establishment of a Law Commission in Bangladesh and a brief history of law commissions in the Indian sub-continent. There is information on the composition, functions and activities of the Commission along with profiles of members and staff. A full-text copy of the Law Commission Act and a selection of Commission reports from 1998 onwards are made available in full-text on the site.

Research guide to the legal system of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh

Online guide to the legal system and legal materials of Bangladesh written by Omar Sial who is a partner at law firm  Omar Sial & Associates and published in 2008 on the Globalex website. The guide was updated by  Mohammad Ershadul Karimand, Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Malaya, in 2023. The guide presents background information on Bangladesh and an outline of the governmental and court systems.

Asian Patent Attorneys Association

Website of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), an NGO that seeks to promote intellectual property protection in the Asian region (including Australia and New Zealand). The site provides a newsletter and gives details of APAA committees and regional groups, a history of the organisation, and details of conferences and meetings. Parts of the site are restricted to members.
