The survey was carried out between October 1998 and January 1999 under the auspices of the United Kingdom Home Office. 'Youth' was defined as those aged 12 to 30 years. It focussed on 27 offences including arson, burglary and shoplifting.
The Children and Armed Conflict Unit is a joint project of the Children's Legal Centre and the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex. Its aim is to provide information on the impact of war on children and to analyse existing human rights law in order to provide a better protection of childrens' rights.
