Venezuela National Assembly

Website of the unicameral National Assembly of Venezuela (Asamblea Nacional) which is composed solely of a Chamber of Deputies. The site has profiles of the deputies and information on the make up and work of the various committees. Laws dating back to the early twentieth century can be viewed in full and there are national and international news items. The site can be viewed in Spanish only.

Asociaciόn Venezolana de Derecho Maritimo

Official site of the Venezuelan Association of Maritime Law (AVDM). Gives background information about the organisation including its history, membership, mission, vision and code of ethics. The organisation is committed to the study, development, reform and dissemination of maritime law. Full-text access is available to documents and legislation related to the Organisation.  The Publications section consists of a collection of free e-books (some in English) and serials on Venezuelan and international maritime law, presented in the form of a clickable bookshelf.

An Introduction to Venezuelan governmental institutions and primary legal sources

Online guide to government and primary legal materials of Venezuela written by Luis Bergolla a J.S.D. candidate Stanford Law School and Visiting Scholar at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law. The guide was published in 2006 (and updated in 2022) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The author provides background information to Venezuela and descriptions of the various forms of government including the executive, legislative, judicial, citizen and electoral powers.
