Government of the Federated States of Micronesia

The website of the National Government of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), its departments, and overseas missions, hosted by the FSM mission to the United Nations in New York. Site contains both current and archived government press releases, information and contact details for government offices and officials at both federal and state level, and a list of all multilateral treaties which FSM have ratified.

Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia

This is the official website of the parliament of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). It provides information on the history, structure of the Congress and its current activities. It includes a listing of current members of parliament, the full-text of recent press releases and the national and state constitutions of the region. Also accessible is information on recent laws and legislative activity in parliament.

Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute

The Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute (PacLII) provides free internet access to legislation and cases for jurisdictions in the South Pacific. Islands covered by the service include American Samoa, the Cook Islands, Fiji, Guam, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, the Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. A site search form allows specific database selection and query with boolean functionality.

Law of the Pacific Islands

A guide to web-based resources, listing and describing internet sites providing legislation, law reports and government information for the Pacific Island region. The guide has been written by Ruth Bird who is Bodleian Law Librarian at the University of Oxford, Dianne Thompson who is a Librarian at the Legal Services Commission of South Australia and Anna Matich of the ASIC in Brisbane. The guide was published in the features section of LLRX.com in July 2008 and updates previous versions published in October 2000, April 2002 and December 2005.

World Law: Micronesia

Section of WorldLII's World Law service covering the Federated States of Micronesia. A range of browse and search features are available on the site. Browse sections highlight links relating to government, legislation, parliament, courts and introductions to Micronesian law. A collection of stored searches will automatically search for materials relating to Micronesia on all of World Law. This section of WorldLII was developed from work initiated by the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII).

Legal Information System of the Federated States of Micronesia

Website of the Legal Information System (LIS) of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), a project of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Supreme Court of the Federated States of Micronesia. The aim of the project is to improve public access to legal materials of the FSM. The site has information about the FSM National Government and the four states that make up the Federated States of Micronesia- Chuuk, Kosrae, Pohnpei, and Yap providing access to constitutions, codes, regulations, court decisions and rules.

Compact of Free Association

Website providing information about, and a full-text copy of, the Compact of Free Association between the United States of America, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The information is made freely available by the Joint Committee on Compact Economic Negotiations and includes the Compact itself (with amendments), the Compact as signed in 1982 and various related agreements. Pacific Islands Treaty Series

A Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute (PacLII) resource containing bilateral and multilateral treaties affecting Pacific Island countries and last updated in 2009. The interface is available in English or French. Under "Other Resources", there is background information about each country and details of treaty-making procedures, along with a glossary of treaty terms. PacLII is a joint initiative involving the University of the South Pacific and the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII).
