The Interfaith Legal Advisers Network (ILAN), based at Cardiff Law School's Centre for Law and religion, brings together lawyers and administrators to share their experience of relgious law and the administration of religious organisations and to discuss the interface between State law and religous law. This website, provided by English solicitor Sharon Faith and dual-qualified English and Scottish solicitor Deanna Levine, gives detailed information about obtaining a get. A 54-page guide, in pdf format, may be downloaded free of charge; it includes a glossary, standard clauses, a list of solicitors and a list of useful organisations. The site also includes articles on the topic by Faith and Levine from the Family Law Journal, Scots Law Times and Journal of the Law Society of Scotland, together with a videoed interview with Deanna Levine.
Online guide to religious legal systems written by Marylin Johnson Raisch who is International and Foreign Law librarian at the John Wolff International and Comparative Law Library of the Georgetown Law Center in Washington, DC. The guide was published on the Globalex website in 2006 (and updated in 2022) and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The author provides an introduction to religious law and general sources of information on the subject both online and printed.
Website of the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (IAJLJ) a membership organisation made up of lawyers, judges, judicial officers and academic jurists in more than 50 countries. The IAJLJ is concerned with human rights issues and in particular issues affecting Jewish people and works to "combat racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, Holocaust denial and negation of the State of Israel.÷ The site gives information about the organisation and its officers, details of events and provides access to IAJLJ policy statements.
Guide to Jewish legal resources by the University of Miami Law Library. The guide refers mostly to printed sources. It gives an introduction to Jewish law and covers both secondary and primary sources, with notes on how to use primary sources such as the Talmud, the Responsa and legal codes. Bibliographies are also included.
Responsa is a database of Torah literature, available by subscription from Bar Ilan University in Israel. It includes the Bible, the Talmud Bavli and Yerushalmi, with commentaries; there are works about Jewish law and custom, legal codes and over 80,000 Halachic law decisions. The database is in Hebrew, but the website has English and French interfaces.
