The IALS Student Law Review (ISLRev) is an online Open Access, peer-reviewed law journal established by the Institute and made freely available on the School of Advanced Study's Open Journals System. The Journal publishes articles, developing work and case notes that meet scholarly standards, on all areas of law with a particular focus on the main expertise of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) School of Advanced Study (SAS) University of London. The Journal is well-placed to build on the Institute's national role in facilitating legal research - developing its own role in publishing articles from research students across the UK and internationally.
The IALS Student Law Review provides a unique forum for all those who are interested in legal studies to present their scholarly contributions. The unique offering of this publication is that it promotes legal discussion on multi-dimensional legal studies. In addition, the Journal proactively encourages analytical and comparative studies. Papers that investigate legal issues from a single or multiple vantage points, whether topically or jurisdictionally, are equally welcomed, as are papers examining law-related interdisciplinary work.
ISLRev is run by an Editorial Board made up of IALS PhD legal research students assisted by an academic member of staff. The Journal is designed to be a showcase for legal scholars from postgraduate students and early career scholars to well-established academics; the target audience is members of the legal academia and practitioners in addition to students. Scholars working on related topics are encouraged to put together several papers for consideration as special themed issues or dossiers and submissions from legal practitioners are particularly welcomed.
With over 189,300 views and downloads recorded (as at April 2021) the IALS Student Law Review is pleased to feature in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and in the HeinOnline Law Journals Library.
